Netflix charges $8 per month for streaming movies/tv-shows. I subscribe. It’s now the 23rd of March and I’ve only watched one movie, Warlock (1959). It was awesome! Good thing that $8 goes toward unlimited Dora the Explorer and Diego episodes or I’d cancel…
Warlock is the name of the town. It’s troubled by a gang of bad guys (redundant?). Warlock employs Henry Fonda as their marshal for protection. He’s got a partner, Anthony Quinn. Anthony Quinn’s got some secrets, enough said. H. Fonda gets run out of his position. Richard Widmark gets appointed marshal. Wait, doesn’t he have ties to the bad-guy gang?! Then there’s the absolutely beautiful Dorothy Malone who everyone seems to fall in love with. Who’s heart will she end up with (yours?)??
I liked this movie because of its grittiness. Remember, it was 1959, folks. It definitely wasn’t a happy movie. Nobody was a true hero. Everyone had some dirt. I loved that it was in color (I love that Cinescope!). I give this one a strong 15/17! It’s only available on Netflix instant for another week, so you better hurry if you wanna watch a guaranteed awesome movie, or your money back (Netflix is known for bringing movies back after expiring them, so you might not have to fret if you don’t make the 3/31 expiration date).
Can you guess my favorite western of 1959?
