Hey Paul!

Yeah, I was thinking of your near-fight story, actually. But I seriously would have had to take on about 20 sons of bitches if I started shit with anyone talking at El Hobbit. And it wasn't even comments about the movies, necessarily. Damn morons.

Thanks for your commiseration, though.

And as for Sukiyaki, after my first viewing it only really could get better, since it almost hit rock bottom (I almost got as angry as when I watched The Flintstones). But I still probably won't give it another chance. Life's too short.

If I'd seen what? Sukiyaki Western Django or The Good, The Bad and the Ugly? Sukiyaki Western Django is pretty incredible. It's stupid and fun and everything I wanted it to be, and somehow it gets better with each viewing. Funny enough, I haven't seen all of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, but I've seen the ending about 12 times, so I guess it kinda ruined the rest of the movie for me.

Now, a quick note on talking during movies: Seriously, screw you assholes that do. Sure, throw in a quick comment every once in a while. I do it. It happens. But when it turns into an explanation: "What else have we seen him in?" > "That's the guy from um... shoot, what was it... I think he was in A Knight's Tale" > "Was that the one with Martin Lawrence?" > "No. That was Black Knight" > "Man. He hasn't been in anything in a while." > "That's cause he died." > "Who did?" > " Heath Ledger." > "Oh, I know that, I thought you were talking about Martin Lawrence." Go to hell.

Maybe it's time I write an article about when I got into a fight at The Incredible Hulk because people were talking...

The wizard guy was OK, but I just didn't remember anything about him in the book. Same goes for the other wizard (Christopher Lee, Sauron or whatever).

I may eventually watch this movie in English, but I have a feeling it might be fussy and British, which I guess is the one thing that might have made dubbing better. But only barely.

Now, since you mentioned spaghetti Westerns, I have to ask: You don't mean Sukiyaki Western Django, do you?

I completely feel for you, buddy. Dubbing and talking in the theatre are very annoying, indeed. I usually prefer watching subtitled movies, unless it's a Spaghetti Western, which I love. Dubbing is always in those, almost like it's expected or accepted as just part of the movie. In those, though, they were almost needed since all the actors were of different nationalities. But, for El Hobbit, subtitles should have been the medium. That's a bummer, mostly since I really liked this movie.

Oh, I think the wizard guy is from The Similarian, which I think Jackson put in there since it happened during that part of the story, and it probably pleased those fans of Tolkien that have read all of those "other" Middle Earth books. I'll ask Alec. He'd know.
